If you're a Coldplay fan...

...then you'd better click here to download (if you haven't already) Leftrightleftrightleft, a free live album given by the band as a thank you to their fans. The 9-track mp3 bundle contains songs from Coldplay's latest album as well as hits from the previous eras such as Clocks or Fix You, all recorded during their current Viva La Vida Tour. I can't wait to see them live in Paris on Sept 7 (thanks again my friends for this awesome present !!).

Smart marketing move, guys, in these troubled times!

Plus, if you're into Twitter and want to follow the band (or at least their team), it's :

When a rather cool TV show makes an amazing song sound even better

For more information, please watch Gossip Girl Season 2 Episode 21 ASAP.

Sorry I could'nt find a proper video of GG :(

Sometimes life is great...

...and it especially was on January 13, 1989 when Julian Perretta was born. Yes, he's that young, it's unfair. And he's damn cute. He seems like a very nice guy to hang out with. And last but not least, he's very, very talented. Basically we should all hate the guy. But let's be more clever than that and aknowledge the fact that he's just a better guy than we are.
More seriously, JP has been causing quite some buzz this past few months on the internet, escially since superblogger Perez Hilton decided to love him. And rightly so! His debut album is released to be scheduled next summer, and judging from what I heard, it's gonna be GREAT. A bit like a Eric Hutchinson for 2009.

In quite a clever marketing move, his team (or is it him I wonder) decided to give away one of my 5 favourite songs of 2009 as a free download through his website. Ride My Star, for it is its title, is just a perfect pop song. It has a killer chorus AND amazing verses, which is rarer and rarer nowadays, isn't it.
Make sure to check his website, Myspace page, and why not his Twitter (he's a heavy and likeable twitterer). More on him very soon.

PS: just as if all of the above wasn't enough, he's opening for Girls Aloud on their Out Of Control Tour starting tomorrow. Grrrr.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor, will you marry me?

I tried to warn you a few weeks ago about the very high level of amazingness coming you way through this song, but the web sheriff (or whoever this w#anker might be) decided my post had to be deleted for no reason.

As it's never too late to do some good, I'll say it again: THE FREEMASONS feat. SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR'S HEARTBREAK (MAKE ME A DANCER) IS WONDERFUL.

The song was originally supposed to be on SEB's greatest hits, which fortunately never happened to be released, probably cause, you know, her label realised it was a stupid idea. Anyway it was re-worked as a Freemasons featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor kind of thing, and is now getting released in the UK on June 15. Thank God for that! It will deservedly put Sphie back in the spotlight, as se is an awesome popstar who deserves more than the half-success her previous album Trip The Light Fantastic received.

For your viewing and hearing pleasure here are the video for Heartbreak as well as my favourites from Trip.

La Roux - Bulletproof, and very good!

While I have never really been convinced by UK electro-pop duo La Roux's first single (and surprise #2 hit!), In For The Kill, I'm totally loving their second one Bulletproof.

The vocals are less irritating and the song is averall a lot catchier. Maybe this shows once more how unoriginal my musical tastes are, prefering catchiness over originality like this!

As you can see, I don't have much to say about this band except that I'm eagerly waiting for their first album, out god-knows-when, and really excellent from what I've heard.

The song you're gonna LOVE, by VV Brown

VV Brown is one of these UK artists surrounded by quite a big buzz, and hyped as one of the next big things for 2009.
Well, this might be true judging by the fierceness and addictiveness of the summer anthem-in-the-making that is Shark In The Water. No doubt this will find its way to radio stations and music channels very quickly and become a very enjoyable summer hit!
It is released on June 8th in the UK.

Here and here are two other tracks of hers that are worth a listen.

Little Boots on a B-side

Heads We Dance is a band I need to learn more about, since all I know for now is that they welcomed Little Boots to sing with them on their track Work It Out, a B-side to their first UK single When The Sirens Sound. The result is a great electro-powerpop tune you immediatly want to sing along to. The only weak pointto me is that Victoria Boots' voice doesn't stand out the way it should... Anyway give it a try and enjoy!

Madonna vs. Depeche Mode - Like Jesus Or Not

Here is a rather great mash-up of Madonna's Like It Or Not (from her über-amazing Confessions on a Dancefloor album) and Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus. The two tracks were meant to be together, weren't they?!
Plus if you're a gossip fan, you'll easily get the pun contained in the title of the song! xoxo

PS: Thanks to Hard Candy Music for that!
