Hurts - Better Than Love (video premiere)

The nice guys from Hurts have debuted their video for the great Better Than Love (after Wonderful Life kinda went under the radar for some reason). It's stylish and beautiful, much like the Mancunian duo.
Behind the whole project is pop master Richard "Biff" Stannard who's famous for his work with the Spice Girls, Kylie, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Ellie Goulding, Marina and the Diamonds, Sia etc... It's fair to say that these guys are in good hands. Check out the Biffco website, it's pretty much pop heaven.
By the way, Better Than Love is released on May 24th

Say hello to The Penelopes!

There's nothing new really about a French band singing pop-rock tunes in English. But in The Penelopes' case, it's a bit different: they do it well. Liked By Love is a great tune that sets the band as fine contenders on the French pop-rock scene. The EP was released last week on Citizen Records, but you can download it on iTunes as well. Anyway have a taste of it by watching the video, which was shot at the Agnes B. HQ in Paris.

Check their MySpace, Website, Twitter and Facebook for more info

This is the new Alphabeat video!

How awesome is this artwork ??!

Alphabeat make it really difficult not to love them. Basically because they're awesome, and their music is a feel-goo mix of pop, disco and eurodance that's almost impossible to resist. Anyway for some reason they're not reaching the level of success they deserve, which makes me very sad. At least they're trying! DJ is the third single from their awesome album The Beat Is... and the accompanying video is just like the band: colourful, fun and delicious. Enjoy it below!

M.I.A. Born Free (Video)

M.I.A., whose new album is set to drop in June, has just premiered a new song and video. Born Free is a real departure from Paper Planes, and the video is especially crazy. It shows redheads being violently chased by militaries... I won't say more because you have to see the 9-min long clip directed by Romain Gavras for yourself. Keep the children away.

Katie Melua returns with a great song

Katie Melua is one beautiful woman, but somehow I wasn't really hooked on her music. I thought it was a bit easy and boring. But things have changed, people! Katie has been working with the legendary William Orbit, the master behind Madonna's Ray Of Light album and All Saints' Pure Shores. The result is The Flood. It's basically two awesome songs in one. In starts off as a moody and calm affair, and then it bursts into a dramatic and epic song, a little like Pure Shores did. Well done everyone, minus the Cheryl Cole-like makeover. She didn't need it.
